I really appreciate this style of drawing, there's an architect I follow on IG that does beautiful sketches; once I asked a friend why they feel different from normal drawings, and they said "maybe they're drawing volumes and spaces, not pictures" So interesting, but would not be able to easily replicate

that’s an interesting take, I suppose I’ve never thought of it but makes a lot of sense. it’s definitely a stylistic technique we use a lot in school and practice to get ideas about space/volume out quickly. It also leaves room for others to fill in the details. now I wonder if it’s as *spatially* compelling to non-architects or is it just some sort of shorthand our brains have grown accustomed to?
