With the common misnomer of using Warpcast and Farcaster interchangeably, I wonder how much it might have helped switching the -er.

Farcast: sounds like a noun, abstract

Warpcaster: sounds like a tool like ruler, calculator, etc.

Maybe so, but "farcaster" is named after a specific technology in the Hyperion books. It would be kind of weird to mess with that.

That would break the Hyperion reference though

funnily enough hyperion was recommended to me when looking for books similar to snow crash and neuromancer, two of my favorite scifi books
