First was an IT consulting company that I sold to a competitor. The second was a validator node business that was acquired by a DeFi company.

Product designer with a passion for web-development, technology, photography, travel and motorcycles.

I started a new venture @mosaic I’m tinkering with friends to figure out how to help brands, creators and fans make more meaningful connections with each other. We’ve got a few different experiments ongoing to see how the market responds.

As for why I keep doing this? I enjoy the thrill of solving tough problems.

And are you set up for life now if you want to, if so are you still working hard or enjoying the financial freedom?

I do wish I coded. It’s a very powerful skill. But not knowing how has forced me to refine the skills I do have, which in my case are defining the product vision, building great teams, raising funds, and leading with kindness and respect.

Do you wish you coded? Or were there pros of not coding that you experienced?

Great question. I’ve been lucky to work several times with people I know irl and can trust. IMHO you need to make sure the person has proven themselves not just knowledgeable but also reputable. That’s a hard combo to get right.

How did you find a coder you could trust? I want to create some projects but worried the coder could be malicious and drain everyone that participates.

Both were successful because of how quickly we adopted new tech. The IT consulting biz was competitive because of our ability to serve emerging products like cloud rendering, 3d printing and drones. The validator node biz was first to use index tokens to make it easy to share the value of our rewards with customers.

Haha I’m probably the wrong person to ask this question. I’m what they call a parallel entrepreneur, meaning I usually have several ventures cooking at the same time. That said, I do focus on very specific things in each venture.

First, I have a technical background, it just isn’t coding. Second, neither business I sold was venture backed. Third, I surrounded myself with people who were better than me to do the things I was weakest at and trusted them to do their part. Finally, if you have a good product you won’t need to convince customers
