Vinyl record collectors of fc(if you exist), do you buy vinyl primarily to consume or collect?

To consume and then collect. I’ve got a whole library back home, haven’t touched them in years unfortunately

For your research speaking for my husband, primary purchase is for consumption. But since he is a curator I will warn you that he refers to all of his music related belongings as his “archive” 🤣

Don’t collect or consume anymore - only play/share what I already have.

Consume - look for those special albums that sound better played front to back than part of a playlist on Spotify, etc.

I do love and play vinyl but I'm mainly a collector - e.g. I own multiple sealed copies of Frank Ocean's Black Friday Blonde... (stock photo)

Mostly collect - records I like every track of / big sentimental value / local artist Consume records that are hard to find digital copies of (without using p2p sources) Lots of nice record stores w bars here in melb, so lots of spur of the moment buys

I just recently started to buy vinyls of my favorite albums. For now, I'm only collecting, because I have no vinyl player. The plan is to buy a vinyl player soon.
