Rory's two missed putts on the 16th and 18th holes were 2'6" and 3'9" respectively.

The 16th hole was his first miss in his last 496 putts from inside 3 feet. 😳

This was the putt on 18. It can't be understated how difficult it would be to convince yourself to start it more than a cup outside. 

I'm not sure many guys on tour would've made this, especially with the weight of a U.S open on the line

yeah the put on 18 was not an easy one at all, the mistake was hitting driver off the tee (to find himself in that bad lie) and to go long on the approach... Always stay under the hole there.
