Farcaster should have (near-)unlimited length messages like twitter.

Having used it for a while, I feel like twitter's long message feature improves its user experience and its usefulness for high quality discussion.

I think we would need a form of "multidimensional storage pricing" to introduce this.

I attached a 30MB video to one of my casts yesterday. I don't think a little bit of extra text on casts is going to be the thing that makes a dent in storage costs.

Yeah, it's possible in principle but we'd need to rethink the current model of how storage is priced.

idk, what speaks against long text on the protocol? That it messes with the storage calculations etc right?

I think it would need to appear inline just like regular casts, but the data itself could be stored outside of hubs just like with media. Having it appear as a link to an external location would be kind of annoying.
