I watched Barbie for the first time last night and I don’t know what to think… and I like to think!  What were people’s reaction to the movie?

Tradfi coder by day, hacker by night. Doesn’t know night from day. Freelance scribe. Dad cook. Dog butler.  Happy Grandpa. Draws badly.

Was more interested in the death anxiety angle than anything else.

That did come from nowhere… was that because Barbie was dying out rejected by the new generation???

I did not get that at all, I'd have liked her to have just stayed on in Barbie land...

It was her feeling the depression and anxiety of the person who was playing with / holding her at the time.

Probably lots of ways to interpret it. Overall I feel it was low effort attempt of being feminist or existential in any way.. but maybe it resonates with some people??
