when i worked at goldfinch (defi protocol), we had the best company ritual.

every thursday was Crypto Club — someone from the team would give a deep dive on a new crypto protocol or product and onboarded us all.

forced us to understand UX pain points, market trends, bad vs good positioning, etc (also it was fun!).

Kinda funny that FriendTech is remembered as high friction when it kicked off the whole Privy embedded wallet craze but you’re absolutely right. I didn’t like that I had to hand over posting permissions in order to sign up. Been very grumbly about dark patterns and ethical design today lol

when friend tech originally came out, @carter did a full overview on the multi-step, high-firiction onboarding process and it was MINDBLOWING that crypto users were willing to go through so many hoops to use a short-lived app. people will do a lot for a shot at $$$.
