Execution, not knowledge, is the bottleneck.

The new competitive edge isn’t resources or market share. It’s speed, iteration, and adaptability.

When I meet friends who aren’t in tech, they always ask me about ChatGPT. Every single time. So I figured I’d share how I explain it here. ChatGPT is an assistant that reads tons of writing to learn how people talk. When you ask something, it guesses what words come next based on what it’s seen before. It sounds human because it’s seen a lot, but it doesn’t truly understand the way you or I do. It’s like that friend who knows a little about everything. Good at answering questions, amazing at brainstorming, helpful when you’re stuck. But remember, it’s still just making educated guesses, even when they’re impressively good. Give this explanation a try next time you’re asked. It works.

A demo isn’t about showing what it does. It’s about making people see what they can do with it.

Brilliance is overrated. Consistency wins every time. Some chase breakthroughs. They wait for the perfect idea, the perfect moment, the perfect plan. They convince themselves that success comes from one big move. It doesn’t. It comes from relentless consistency. MrBeast didn’t go viral overnight. He spent years making videos that no one watched. Warren Buffett didn’t build his fortune from one brilliant investment. He made small, smart decisions, year after year, decade after decade. Serena Williams didn’t become the greatest by winning one tournament. She built her dominance through brutal repetition. Practicing serves. Refining footwork. Showing up every day whether she felt like it or not. The best aren’t necessarily the smartest or the most talented. They are the ones who keep going. They outlast, outwork, and out-iterate everyone else.

Stop looking for shortcuts. Real wins come when you push harder than anyone else is willing.

Distribution beats perfection. A rough idea in circulation beats a polished one in hiding.

Every time someone asks me what I think of their business idea, I ask them if they’ve talked to any potential customers yet. What I think isn’t as important as what actual potential customers think.

I’m running startup office hours this Thursday and want to chat with founders who are building AI products - who should I talk to?

Founders have to be irrationally optimistic about themselves.

Founders who build one business and believe they know how to achieve product/market fit tend to have a rude awakening when they try to build their second business the same way. One startup experience doesn’t mean they know how to achieve it repeatedly.
