Is it safe to swap random memecoins I've been airdropped on Base into $higher or $degen directly in the rainbow app? Or could I somehow get my wallet drained?

as a rule unless you know what it is don't touch tokens sent to your wallet if a token has value, should be able to easily verify if it is safe to interact with or not

Personally, I avoid touching them - fun to look at but not worth the stress and feeling something fishy may happen Unless, it’s an expected airdrop - I usually check Twitter to see if other received the same

No, do not do that, it is a common tactic employed by malicious actors, the contract of the tokens would have been tampered with and once you interact with the contract you sign a function that'll most likely drain your wallet, same goes for nfts. The rule of thumb is to never interact with airdrops, unless verified.

Here’s a curated list of tokens which are legit… and safe to swap. The Doge NFT aka $Dog okay was going to list all CA then realized you could check Farcaster.in for a reputable list. 💯 don’t touch strange tokens. Verify the contract w/tools like DEXScreener/Tokensniffer & when in doubt ignore it My friend Dave was airdropped $BONK & $MEW for buying a Solana phone. He them alone cuz they were unfamiliar, then when they pumped, he was able to verify & made like $1000

So I’ve been pretty wreckless lately when it comes to airdropped memecoins. One could say I’ve gone too far down the rabbit hole, but if you don’t want to follow the advice of “don’t touch what you don’t know” sometimes you can check DEX screener to check and see if there’s liquidity backing the coin
