Why do you think political betting took off onchain before sports betting?

What problems would being onchain solve for sports betting?

It probably won’t help the reputation of crypto, but sports betting feels like the next obvious onchain use case.

I think it’s because sports betting is already accessible off chain, with lots of well established companies offering it. 

Political betting is a new behavior that hasn’t really existed in any meaningful way, and there aren’t big existing markets for it.
