Wealthfront founder Andy Rachleff echoed a similar theme for startups, "Serendipity plays a role in finding product/market fit, but the process to get there is consistent." In my work, I help teams build the habits and frameworks that turn creative sparks into real solutions. Creativity thrives on consistent practice.

Creativity isn't just for the arts—it's a key skill that drives innovation everywhere. The secret? A disciplined process. Choreographer Twyla Tharp said, "Creativity is a habit, and the best creativity is the result of good work habits."

"Creativity is not a talent, it's a way of operating" - John Cleese I love how this quote reframes creativity as a mindset and process that anyone can cultivate, not just artists. With the way AI is trending, honing your own creative process feels like an essential skill.

I've explored this new capability and other AI-enabled product patterns in my latest post. It provides a roadmap for product teams looking for ways to harness AI to solve their user problems. https://heynate.me/the-foodies-guide-to-crafting-ai-driven-products/

Why does this matter? Proactive recommendations represent a shift in how we interact with technology. Recommendations are a massive part of the digital content landscape, but AI enables us to finally let users drive their journey.

Spotify just announced a beta feature called AI Playlist, an early case study for what I like to call “proactive recommendations”. This feature allows users to create personalized playlists through simple prompts, putting Spotify’s extensive taste graph at their fingertips.

It’s not a given — pricing is only part of the equation. But it’s why I’m optimistic about success. To go deeper on the opportunities and challenges, check out my blog post on this topic: https://heynate.me/the-economic-case-for-web3-protocol-networks/

The unfair advantage is that protocol networks don’t need a middleman — the code regulates exchange and only needs to generate enough funds to maintain itself. Over the long run, a protocol ride share network should be able to charge significantly lower rates than Uber or Lyft.

For me, it all boils down to the economic advantage of protocol networks. Yes, there are a ton of morally strong reasons why decentralization is better for humanity — but that’s the reason I like web3, not the reason I think it can succeed.

Last week a friend asked me if I still thought web3 had a future. Tough question, but fair — AI is the hot new thing and we’re still waiting for the next bull cycle to really take off. It felt like a cosmic nudge to remind myself why I’m optimistic 👇
