Spotify just announced a beta feature called AI Playlist, an early case study for what I like to call “proactive recommendations”. This feature allows users to create personalized playlists through simple prompts, putting Spotify’s extensive taste graph at their fingertips.

Why does this matter? Proactive recommendations represent a shift in how we interact with technology. Recommendations are a massive part of the digital content landscape, but AI enables us to finally let users drive their journey.
