I meant more that it's become a topic of mainstream policy and discussion Tbh I don't agree with it. Globalization is great in most ways, trade deficits are fine (except for critical national security goods), and the problem in middle America doesn't get solved with tariffs

Impressive how consistently Peter Thiel's take on the world plays out a few decades later: - "Diversity Myth" published in 1995 calls out political correctness. Plays out in 2015-2022 - Critiques higher education and launches Thiel fellowship in 2011. In mainstream debates by 2020s - Warns about globalization and trade deficit in early 2010s. World catches up to it in 2025

Few angles on tariffs: 1) "Build a new economic order post Bretton Woods" as Scott Bessent said. Sounds interesting but I don't know what this means exactly. Use American influence to cut China out of the global order? 2) "Trade and trade deficits are bad". This is dumb 3) "Bring back manufacturing jobs to America". Manufacturing in America will happen primarily via automation and not through 1940s style factory work that Americans anyway don't want to do 4) "Negotiate better deals with each country." This makes sense. Now every country shows up at Mar-a-lago to negotiate a trade deal and each deal is better for America than it was a year back. But this assumes that every country will do that and not retaliate further.

It's 2030. All AI models have ratings for how users have behaved with them. Users who are polite and say thank you get access to more compute. Users who aren't have strict rate limits

The Aave <> Polygon situation shows that capital is much stickier at the application level (Aave) than the chain level (Polygon) However painful, Aave users will switch their Polygon position to another EVM chain rather than use an Aave competitor on Polygon

India was a socialist state until 1991. The government controlled means of production. It was only after radical economic reforms from 1991-96 that Indians gained economic freedom. Since then, 400 million people have been lifted out of poverty. It is one of the greatest humanitarian accomplishments of the 20th century. https://www.shreyashariharan.com/1991-when-india-gained-economic-freedom
