The short interesting history of German's far right AfD party. It did not start as a racist nazi party, but anti-EUR party. It started with anti-EU as the main topic, but had Nazis like Björn Höcke as early founding members already in 2013

And there’s a pretty big overlap between anti-EU nationalism and anti-migration rhetoric, plus assorted other forms of populism. Offering simple solutions for complex problems is a vote-winning strategy but not something that has ever created stable and successful governments (or societies for that matter).
