it all comes down to: do you believe people should be compensated for the time and effort they put in to maintaining groups and communities? if facebook and reddit mods had clear paths and tooling to monetize their communities, would they?

different tool sets and building blocks allow for different forms to evolve and emerge - i see all of this as an experiment of what happens when you give community leaders more choice and agency over their communities

Hopefully nobody because why are people charging for channels? No offense. There are weirdos that have been moderating Facebook groups for 10 years without charging a dime.

If I understood correctly, this can already be done through a fan token from moxie, but for some reason not all channels use it

I believe we will see a mix of business conceps in this interoperable landscape, bundling of channels, network of pods, membership communities across pods, channels and newsletters, podcast seasons, collectible subscriptions, art and event packages etc etc
