I gave up trying to make tables in Figma work for my infographic. I straight up just styled a Google Sheet, got a .PNG of that and am MAKING IT WORK

okay the trick is you need to know: 1. do i want custom sized columns 2. will i be moving rows around a lot and reordering if your answer to 1 is yes, you must autolayout the cells into columns first, set them all to fill container, and then autolayout all the columns together if your answer to 2 is also yes, you're screwed :) if your answer to 1 is no but 2 is yes, autolayout the cells into rows first, set them to fill container (all columns will be equal width) and then autolayout all the rows together to make a cell: > slap down a text element > group the text element > switch the group to a frame > autolayout that sucker > add in some padding top & bottom > set it to anchor to the middle (ps i despise tables in figma)

i guess there's a 3rd question which is "will i be reordering COLUMNS a lot" and a 4th/5th i guess too "am i inserting/removing new columns/rows" then prioritize one or the other for autolayout first tldr: if you're moving everything around you're screwed
