so @christopher has me listening to the startup gimlet podcast again and in the 5th episode they play 5 seconds of this song and now i am obsessed with old cowboy music it's a serious vibe y'all

Moving to Austin taught me to appreciate old 40s-60s country and outlaw country. The twangy shuffle and steel guitars are an A+ vibe. And when you’re listening to it on a porch … 👨🏻🍳🤌🏻💋 A lot of old country was actually based on swing and big band jazz rhythms!

"outlaw country" always makes me think of charlene in archer 😂 I didn't know that it traces back to swing and big band, that makes so much sense! everything goes back to jazz
