Kind of crazy to think that the cost to sequence a genome went from $3B to $200 in twenty years… And our health system still doesn’t deliver routine care based on genomic markers https://www.statnews.com/2024/04/05/personalized-medicine-not-here-yet/

I think personalised medicine is important as we gain more insight into the similarities of the genomes and get more data we will be able to group things and then there will be standard protocols for people with those particular sets of genomes as we will be able to know their response as a collective to drugs etc

Only when the insurance companies can make extra money AND when the government mandates it, will they offer providing personalized care. The system is totally money driven, from education to the care.

Our current healthcare system (in the US) doesn’t even provide affordable care, period. It’s a shame.
