Kind of crazy to think that the cost to sequence a genome went from $3B to $200 in twenty years… And our health system still doesn’t deliver routine care based on genomic markers https://www.statnews.com/2024/04/05/personalized-medicine-not-here-yet/

A lot of people don't internalize what it means to not access healthcare because of something as simple as geography - but its a problem many face across the world Imagine driving hours for a checkup while sick !!! https://crosscut.com/news/2024/03/rural-washington-patients-travel-hours-basic-healthcare

Reminder that you can ALWAYS fight your insurance and hospital bills - many times they’ll just pay for it (because they did shady shit) Other times they’ll reduce your amount!!! https://www.kff.org/health-costs/issue-brief/what-resources-are-available-for-privately-insured-patients-who-get-surprise-balance-bills/

New review of diabetes management solutions isn’t so great from a cost/benefit perspective - but hopefully motivates the next generation of digital health tools https://www.forbes.com/sites/brucejapsen/2024/03/21/report-questions-value-of-diabetes-monitoring-apps/amp/

Pretty scathing review of diabetes apps by the Peterson institute Essentially the cost benefit isn’t there for many patients even though many companies have been built in the diabetes mgmt space https://www.forbes.com/sites/brucejapsen/2024/03/21/report-questions-value-of-diabetes-monitoring-apps/amp/

Hot tip for anyone that gets denied by insurance for a claim in the United States - insurers are legally required to process an internal appeal 40% of the time they’ll just pay for it, and the other 60% of the time you can report them to your state for an independent review
