and subdomains... I guess the federated socials kind of do this already (use case: clients could bring custom ENS and subdomains that match their web2 domains, imagine the brand farcaster profile with "supercast.xyz" for example or "woj.supercast.xyz" as your verified username, if you have a custom client or personal web domain you won't have to worry about getting the .eth or the fname if either are taken) shout out @greg for making L2 ENS and ENS tech in general live rent free in my head since ethglobal last weekend

main downside besides increased complexity is worse UX right now we enforce 16 characters for fnames and 16 +.eth for ENS this makes it easy to reason about rendering them and there's just farcaster (not suffix) or ENS seeing DNS would just look bad IMIO
