Is mixing creatine with protein powder a norm? It tastes horrible. I bought my first tub of creatine and was wondering if any experienced users have any inputs for creatine overall. So far I've been told to drink more water while using it and it will help create more muscle. Is that true?

It’s not uncommon, but IMO not my preferred way of going about it (although I used to for many years back in high school). I honestly recommend going with creatine in capsule format. My preferred type is Kre-Alkalyn. Both β€˜EFX’ and β€˜NOW Sports’ are two highly reputable brands you can go with. Hope this helps ✌🏼

Definitely need to drink more water! I used to just scoop the creatine in my mouth and wash it down like a madman

I used to take creatine capsules - I’m taking quite a bit of them but I’m not the biggest powder person

I'd just mix it with preworkout or water after. Sounds kind of nasty lol

I would mix creatine with a fruit flavor or just scoop it right into your mouth and chase with water. Eww with protein powder.

Definitely true, creatine helps retain water which increases strength/endurance in the gym. Out of all the supplements I’ve tried creatine has the largest impact for sure if you’re trying to gain mass. Most suggest you load extra the first week or two, I’m sure the container recommends you do a bit extra your first week. I would just try to stay as hydrated as possible. Tricky thing with creatine is it definitely would bloat me a bit so I typically try to do it in the winter when I’m trying to bulk. I’ve never tried it when trying to cut but could be a good way to maintain a bit more mass as you cut. Usually takes about a week to really kick in and start making a noticeable impact

An over simplification, but you're basically retaining water in your muscles if you're using creatine monohydrate

I just mix unflavored creatine with water, easy peasy. More water overall is good, creatine causes muscles to hold on to more water, which at first seems like water weight gain.
