What do folks here think about non-EVM rollups for Ethereum? a la Fuel or StarkNet?

Genuinely curious because I might be in a bubble

I generally agree - mostly all those points also apply to Fuel which I’ve worked with a bit more relatively. I just sometimes feel like these things get drowned out in a sea of OP Stack/Arbitrum One chains

I'm excited for them. 1 reason Ethereum chose to innovate via L2s b/c the competition among them enables the experimentation with different designs than what a more ossified L1 would allow. StarkNet has native account abstraction, is already quantum proof, and it uses a language similar to Rust, which has its benefits

idk much about this but i'd love to see a rollup where all SCs are written in simple AF python

Agreed - this was more from a dev perspective I guess. Bridging I think is less of a problem but wallets definitely are a big one. Still a ways to go there I think.

I think the main issue is UX.  How hard is it to manage accounts and bridge back and forth.   I don’t think most users care about the VM type.
