Has anyone deployed a production Next app to AWS or another provider besides Vercel? What was the experience like?

I do know Next technically has a lot of stuff under the hood that depends on Vercel, although some providers like Railway have gotten better at supporting it. Its so hard to do with AWS that the guys running sst.dev have put a lot of work into Open Next instead

Does OpenNext have feature parity with Next?

I will say that Vercel is selling DX, so it makes for their framework lean into their platform and make it happen

What I'm mainly curious about is if Next can grow beyond Vercel. It seems to be becoming the default framework for the web (not sure their marketshare but I'd guess >80% of new sites). A framework monopoly is fine but a hosting provider monopoly is most definitely not.

Yeah totally agree, but hey, all about that money lol 😂 It’s a killer deal for them so I don’t see it changing anytime soon
