As a parent, how highly do you value fostering independence in your children? Personally, I value it very highly, a bit higher than my wife, and I'm curious if that's a typical mom/dad dynamic or not.

I personally had to grow up sooner than most for various external reasons. So I value this a lot. My issue is I am not the most patient in how I deploy the behavior I want or expect. Getting better at it though, like choose better words etc.

My wife did montesorri early so she values it as well. But she was raised kinder or gentler so she is way better at getting the results she wants.

Hardest thing for me has been letting my kid fail so she can learn that independence
