What´s a coach?

To me, a coach is someone that has done the path you want to walk and helps you do it better, safer or faster.

Simply.

Interesting. I think in the UK this would be described as mentoring, with a coach not needing to be a subject matter expert, but able to ask insightful questions. I get a sense that the word coach usually implies subject matter expertise in the US. Is that others’ experience?

Love this question. I’d say someone who — co-creatively — helps you build awareness + shift behavior. 

That said — I have yet to see one definition of coaching.

It is that someone who besides helping you to improve your times and in the best possible way is the person who helps you to drain all possible fears before you see the mistakes you were making
