Interviewing for a job is the same as dating someone new. In both cases, we're trying to figure out if the person will *become* who we need them to be for the role they're applying.

With employment, we lean heavily on past experience as a proxy for this, but it's merely a proxy. Someone very adaptable with little relevant experience is a better hire than someone very experienced yet extremely rigid.

Imagine we started first dates with a resume reviewing prior relationships? Is that ridiculous? Should hiring be more like dating, or should dating be more like hiring?
