Wild stat that Iโ€™ve heard today: The number of people in Brazil that own crypto is much larger than the number of people that own stocks. More than 20M own crypto, less than 4M own stocks ๐Ÿ˜ฎ

wow, less than 2% of Brazilians hold stocks? just looked at Mexico and it's not much higher at 3.25%. US is 61%. Do Brazilians have an easy way to access foreign equities? I've seen at least one business lately providing US access to retail foreign investors.

Impressive, but not surprised. Stock markets in Latam are kind of a joke. Low float, low liquidity, corporate governance, high concentration, etc. and it's not trivial for local folks to access global equities markets. Monetary use cases in crypto have natural PMF in regions like Latam - just a matter of time before adoption becomes parabolic imo

Would make a lot of sense. Brazilian stocks are historically poorly run government grifts. Lots of top level bribery and corruption and waste.
