Contrarian opinion: buying a house in some states that are in decline will be one of the worst investments decisions any one can make. Some states in the U.S. are seeing the high end of the population leave the state, plus low natality rate and on top of that the real economy slow down. That’s recipe for a terrible investment

💯 I agree. High potential for a brutal reckoning in the housing market. A lot of Boomer generation folks in those states will end up holding worthless bags that they’d always assumed would fund their retirement

True, you're right—millennials will catch the worst of it. I keep thinking there must be a tipping point coming where millennials won’t want to buy the old houses from Boomers, Pre-Boomers, etc in certain markets. But maybe I'm underestimating the millennial urge to own a home.
