Got a pup a few weeks ago. Youtube been digging Will Atherton videos. Getting a trainer is super helpful tho. Read to start crate and potty training right away too. Training treats and chew toys are clutch. What kind of pup did ya get?

1. Get these training treats Zuke’s Mini Naturals Soft Dog Treats for Training, Soft Chewy Dog Training Treats with Peanut Butter and Oats https://a.co/d/7rY9Uzx 2. Train early and often 3. Depending on the breed get a feeding bowl where they have to work for their food

Socialize with lots of people, other dogs, and cats (if you can, e.g. take pup to friend with cats place if they’re down/the cat is friendly). Several friends got dogs during the pandemic and didn’t set boundaries with other people so their dogs constantly jump on people (not aggressively) 🀷

Take training seriously, do it early and be consistent. We took my dog to group training classes pretty early on, and used a clicker tool + training treats at home with exercises. This way you avoid potty problems at home down the line, unnecessary barking, and just get them to obey commands.

Trainer will make your live really easy. Spend time and money on it. Or you will not like you're dog for a while.

pay for a professional trainer, and make sure they train you too as part of the process. My only regret with my pup
