Where is this quote from? I would love to read about this, that sounds super interesting and I never viewed anti-drug laws from that angle. God, if that is truly the intend behind those laws... that's so fucked up.

The war on drugs and its systemic racism was mostly Reagan. Not to say Nixon didn’t play his part before then. Reagan’s focus on punishments of cocaine vs crack is the textbook 101 example of systemic racism from the war on drugs.

Read that Reagan as governor of California also used other methods to shut down antiwar protestors who were mostly students, raising the cost of tuition dramatically (something which came to define US colleges and universities) as a way to keep out the working class who were more likely to protest in solidarity

Interesting to see that Ketamine is schedule III. The UK appears to currently have a K epidemic that seems to affect heavy users way worse that weed. It's incapacitating.
