How do you stay focused? I have so many things to do and so many ideas, but I just can't start. Every time I want to start working, I keep getting distracted. In the last two weeks, Iā€™ve done absolutely nothing, and I kind of hate myself for it. think I need help or I'm going downhill

For me at least, there are two things that cause this: A. I'm worried I'm going to forget a good idea B. I'm worried I'm not working on the right idea What I find works: 1. Create an ideas journal. Paper or electronic. 2. 1 bullet point per idea. Keep it simple. One font/size/color/etc. 3. Get everything out of your brain. Nest bullet points under each idea where necessary. 1-3 could take days. When you're done, (A) will be addressed. Now that your mind is clear: 5. Decide goals: do something creative? do something profitable? within what time frame? how much $$$ are you willing to spend? 5. Go through each idea and rate them against (5). All of them. Otherwise problem (B) remains. 6. For every 100 ideas, maybe 1 or 2 will qualify. If not, your goals were too broad or you weren't strict enough in your assessment. 7. Now pick 1. If you're still unsure, pick 2 and take 1-7 days to test each. It won't be overwhelming because you're just testing the waters. Thanks for attending my talk.

Thanks for this awesome and detailed guide on how to better organize and register ideas. I guess what I need is to better organize my daily routine to properly include time to dedicate on working my ideas. Thatā€™s the next step: how to organize yourself to actually work on those ideas. Iā€™ve been very occupied between my 9-5 job, my duties as a father of a 2yr old and guaranteeing a moment of my day for daily exercise.

Oh that's easy, hop into a time-machine before you had all those commitments.
