As a person who inevitably gets this anytime I order Mediterranean food I have to ask: is this easy to make??

I would say that experience matters a lot since you need to know how to handle delicate layers of phyllo dough and assemble them with precision. I think the outcome always reflects the unique touch and skill of the person who makes it.

Lucky man but I can't believe she doesn't like bakllava! Macarons are amazing, and I always confuse them with meringues, which were my childhood favorite in Albania. I also really like kadaif and sweet petulla (fried dough).

My talents are not within the kitchen unfortunately. I'm blessed with a wife who is (and nailed macarons on her first try) but cursed in that she doesn't like baklava. 😆 in a way I'm glad my approach is my personal optimal one, and look forward to the day I try it homemade!
