To me, it feels like most users are still treating channels like hashtags, possibly due to the way Warpcast is designed. But maybe im wrong, so here's a question:

Which Farcaster channels do you think are currently doing a great job of building a cozy community vibe?

It would be interesting to see what would happen if the main feed consisted only of non-channel casts. Users would have to actively seek out channels to read or post in them.

Current Warpcast setup isn’t much different from Reddit, though Reddit does allow users to filter the home feed and create custom feeds. I wasn’t on Reddit in its early days, so I’m not sure how their setup looked when they were at a similar scale to where Farcaster is now. 

I think Warpcast relying on a single black-box algo for the main home feed is working against retention and growth. It seems to discourage the formation of cozy, community-based spaces, making interactions feel more like navigating through hashtags than engaging in close-knit communities. But perhaps the real issue is simply not enough DAU.

I’ve also tried Bluesky. I like that they offer a variety of feeds but I didn’t find any of them particularly impressive. I also really like that they have sites like goodfeeds.co

I don’t see how it’s functionally any different to a hashtag tbh even with the new changes

You see a mixture of channels in your main feed and cast into channels from the main feed - no reason to check a channel feed really

With that being said I’m currently trying to be more active on Bluesky and it does feel like there is a channel-shaped void over there. Raw hashtags are slightly too chaotic
