The traditional concept of an album is evolving. Do you like where things are headed? Why or why not? https://www.businessinsider.com/spotify-tiktok-taylor-swift-beyonce-muse-streaming-quantity-over-quality-2024-7

i kinda like it as an experiment. even the nichést Boomkat portfolio experimentalists have been doing it for years in fact to the degree that the vendor has anti-bot measures since such line of neverending vinyls that are neverending albums sell ferociously like 2022 NFTs out in the open.

> neverending vinyls that are neverending albums Can you say more about this. What exactly are you seeing on Boomkat?

rather famous experimental musicians keep dropping albums like every month. in ltd numbers. they sell in minutes. the concept is the similar. i like how acts like demdike stare manage it with their record labels though. some even let you sub to their bandcamp for ouevre selections. not dissing but some of them manipulate it to a degree imho all the whilst calling the msm capitalist figs.

Dropping albums every month in ltd numbers sounds like a good strategy if the demand is there. But you can also easily overload your fans. Consider artists like Rihanna: she has released 8 albums, with the last one coming in 2016. If she had continued releasing albums at the same rate as she did from 2005 to 2016, fans might not be as excited about her work now. It's interesting to think about how the evolution of the album format might differ depending on the genre.

depends on the musician, too, i assume. i'd love to be overwhelmed with more davis, zappa, or photek etc. also, the proliferation of medial access ports: re: socials, e-trade, tourridden irls.
