I like Kendrick Lamar, but let’s be real, would he have been on that Super Bowl stage if the battle with Drake hadn’t happened? Without “Not Like Us” that performance wouldn’t have hit the same. SZA did her thing, and the Sam Jackson inclusion was a smart touch, but it still felt mid to me

As someone who respects Kendrick a ton, but doesn't listen to him much,(given I'm mostly a rock guy) after watching the half time show, I didn't really think his music was necessarily superbowl half-time show appropriate, it would be like if radiohead performed (in an artistic sense - they are very good artists, but not necessarily sing along, vibe-y stadium artists). That being said, I liked the performance, the setup was cool, and the music was well performed. I can't say I knew every song, Not like us was good, but I'd agree the performance itself was more hyped up cos Drake beef and Grammy's. I still think it's insane that he washed the Grammy's then did superbowl half time, that is an incredible musical achievement.

This was my main point, incredible achievement but without Drake being involved it probably wouldn’t have happened. And he’s up there trolling with unproven accusations. I can’t respect that, it takes away from the whole performance
