the sheer amount of votes for "yes" makes me convinced it's not the greatest idea.

I respect that. Incentive design is tricky and it’s been a fascinating iterative design space in crypto.

Spinoff could be a good approach. My motivation was to try to get more people to convert from web2 Wordle

i respect people that play for fun. i want to be welcoming primarily towards them.

amount of grift brought by wrong incentives is not something i want to or am able to handle. 

downside is chaos and disarray.

i might consider creating a spinoff that would be designed like this from the beginning though
