Just read @krel’s piece on Nouns as a subculture super brand and as the founder of /gnars the first nounish subcult, it really excites me! Early on I was inspired by the 1/n accessory, and @4156’s comparison of Nouns to Reddit: subreddits are subcultures. ie. /n/skateboarding Nouns heads are signals to existing subcultures. Any without a corresponding head should one day inspire the creation of one. A looong time ago, myself and @benbodhi proposed an alternative reddit client as the front page of Nouns, but that was before Farcaster rose to prominence. This framing is still really useful imo, because it’s about providing an inviting venue for subcultures to thrive. One of the most impactful things we can do for Nouns is to continue exploring the idea of subcultural expansion and tie in to core culture. Specifics aside, I’m again obsessed with Nouns and Gnars coexistence. Architects make architecture. Cults make culture. paragraph.xyz/@
