am I wrong to conclude that the system built for the fork was extremely flawed at minority protection if the majority could always just move or hold the threshold too high to be useful?

The motivation for this aspect had a lot to do with legal advise we received

Yea kinda ironic that the legal advice now is “no forks whatsoever”

it’s almost as if the advice could provoke legal action and result in more billable hours lmao

I don’t find it surprising or unreasonable that advice would change over time as a result of changes in either environment or subject.

Well that’s the thing. We pay the bills but we don’t get the disclosures. If indeed there are changes, we may never know. Just a bit of an awkward arrangement. Conflicting motivations all round.

Yes I was about to say something similar. It is indeed awkward. My guess is that advisors advice (or require?) all the advice to not be publicised. Which is a tough arrangement for a DAO

Exactly. As someone who is divorced, this has similar vibes, except there’s no discovery or mediation. It’s awkward because we are being asked to pay settlement but have no idea what’s intended for our kids. We just have option A and option B, except option B is unattainable because option A makes sure of it.

And to be clear, I am pro-DUNA at this point, but not yet convinced to vote for it, and am still considering forking. Mostly because of how things have been handled so far. Doesn’t give me confidence in things being handled well after the fact. Equal opportunity should be made available to those opposed to DUNA.

I spent a bunch of time with Wag on a call to distill his shorthand into something digestible (recorded and linked from my VwR). Turns out the solution is very simple. Redirect resources from automating DUNA administration (not urgent whatsoever) toward solving maximal alignment for pro-duna and no-duna.
