What does "staff level" mean to you? I know the definition that Google used internally but not sure what it meant for anyone else.

If it's mainly based on years of experience then why not just use "looking for a backend engineer with 10+ years of experience" instead of "looking for a staff level backend engineer"? The former would be clearer.
