The meta right now seems to be "the right way to build". There is no right way to build a company, other than: 1. Build something people want 2. Charge (someone) money for it 3. Don't break the law The last two are easy, the first one is hard.

What do the current web3/crypto non-dev users really want? The answer is simple: gamble and fast money. As I joined the space, I thought they want decentralization and true asset ownership. Had to find out by building companies in this space how little they really care (and also VCs, who only want you to drop token).

The space won't grow much if gambling and fast-money were the only things that we had to offer. Pump and dump is not a sustainable strategy. There is no retention.

this is what bothers me so much about the ‘everything is a casino’ discourse

We have more to offer. But it is not what the current average user of web3 space wants. Worked the last 2 years on things that make sense and can be a serious business. Couldn't win users as we offered no token and the same also goes for VCs.
