Folks that are so surprised about all these React sites that re-render clearly haven't experienced anything other than React.

The problem is not the developer, the problem is that the React model makes it hard to avoid re-rendering everything.

This is the Android overdraw overlay on X (native) vs Bluesky (react native).

The React model is inefficient. Period.

This is one of the main reasons animations on React Native apps just don't work that great as they do on native apps. They affect performance significantly due to all the overdrawing.

Hopefully all of this improves on the new React Native Architecture.

afaik bluesky is already on the new architecture, so didn't really help?

They're still in React Native 0.74 and they have newArchEnabled set to false so no.

Given the size of their app and their dependencies they'll likely take a bit to migrate.

I'm very eager to test it out for Warpcast
