Yeah, NodeJS greatly replaced Ruby on Rails which was the main reason Ruby was popular. Even PHP is dropping due to NodeJS but it's slower because of all the historical PHP projects, especially Wordpress.

I'm personally not a fan that NodeJS took over.

the fall off of ruby is wild but also feels very accurate

Go remains an outstanding choice for systems engineering. A great choice for new backend services and high performance tooling. 

I adopted Go for a number of key services over a decade ago, development experience and performance has only gotten better year after year.
