I did meet my soon-to-be-ex-wife on a dating app. It's possible to make quality connections but sifting through all that noise might not be worth it. Especially now vs 9 years ago when I met my ex. 

Some apps are worse than others though.

Definitely! I stopped using dating apps then around the time Tinder came into the scene. (I used OKCupid back then).

Now they've all been Tinder-ified, with no substance.

I found Hinge and especially The League to be better. I stopped using them since I don't really have time for them.

i imagine 9 years ago that the culture of dating apps was a bit different and didn't turn into excessive swiping olympics, but correct me if i'm wrong :)
