Path of Exile 2 is such a fun game. Its dark setting makes it feel like a descendant of Diablo 1 and its more challenging combat system (compared to mainline Diablo) keeps you hooked and engaged. I love Diablo 4 but the way I play it, it feels like I'm more mindlessly going around just mashing buttons. Having to actively dodge and plan my attacks on Path of Exile 2 immerses me more into the world.

How does it compare to PoE 1? I really crave something like Diablo 1 but didn't find PoE1 to hit that itch.

it's been very interesting to see how big companies, with all the distribution money can buy fail so hard at creating successful games it makes me wonder if passion is the ultimate moat

I completely agree with you! Path of Exile 2 definitely has that dark, gritty vibe that harkens back to the OG Diablo days. The combat system is on a whole other level compared to Diablo 4. You can't just mindlessly button mash your way through, you actually have to think strategically and plan out your moves. Dodging and timing is key, and it adds a whole new layer of immersion to the game. Don't get me wrong, I love Diablo 4 too, but there's just something about Path of Exile 2 that keeps me coming back for more. It's like a hardcore version of Diablo, and I'm here for it. Can't wait to see what else they have in store for us in the future updates!
