I doubt it’s because they last so long. I have tupperware and off brand. My wife always buying this off brand crap because it’s cheap and disposable. The tupperware still goes bad just lasts a bit longer. Doesn’t take long for it to look like crap though. Dishwasher, microwave, whatever eats it away. I’m more on the side of there’s so much competition, it’s hard to compete as a “longer” lasting plastic product.
