Question for my easily distracted kin: how smart are your watches? I sport a $10 Casio watch that does exactly as little as I need it to. Imagining an Apple Watch feels like a nightmare for me but maybe useful for others?

Got one gifted and was worried it would be super distracting too It was at first but now I have notifications on only for the people and things/apps that I actually really need to not miss or seriously benefit from seeing health/schedule wise (basically friends/family line texts, appointment reminders and activity tracking) Tough to say how helpful it is but it’s definitely got more pros than cons now

This seems like consensus I'm seeing: the cons (most of which can be disabled) are outweighed by the benefits. The battery life is a tough sell for me though 😩

Yeah i feel that, I like the Oura battery a lot for this reason but the watch hasn’t been a big issue in practice as I thought it would be Usually wake up, if it needs charging I charge it while I shower and get dressed, charged fully by the time I’m done. Or if at night I let it charge while I read and then throw it on after. Getting 3-5 days would be really nice though

Whoa I didn’t know it charged so fast! That makes it seem a lot more sane as a daily driver to me now haha. If they could make something like an iPod nano type watch that had no / super minimal screen that just showed time, and multi day battery life, I’d be a fan
