Everything is an experiment. You’re learning a lot by building this and working to sell it

I have the same feeling a lot. I think the best way to combat is get something in a customers hand willing to pay as fast as possible.

Thought experiment….If no one paid for it ever, at the very least can you use it to make a thousand accounts and monetize them yourself? The economics must make sense at a certain subscriber count, no?

not a solution, but an observation (as someone who has also spent a lot of time building saas things out of whatever idea): the design space that we explore when we commit to doing things of impact/value without a business model is vast and separate from the design space of "what will people pay for?" sometimes we find back doors from one to the other, though. my strategy is to be very mindful about which projects i'm doing for money vs for impact/fun, i tend to separate my year into months i'm doing one or the other. often times the for-fun things bring in some money (e.g. unexpected success that presents opportunities to get more funding, or retro pgf, or other ideas that stem from it as a foundation, etc).

i feel people just need to see they can use it to make money. Once they do, paying will be easy
