NFT photography is more valuable than non-NFT photography but less valuable than comparably good generative collections. Good generative art is a symphony of time, code, and randomness, and more native to blockchains. It's our art and it comes first, always.

they are equally valuable creatively however, i think gen art is a _more native medium_ for NFTs than photography NFTs are made of code and so is gen art. they feel at home as an NFT, while we've had photography in many forms already gen art is also less ubiquitous than photography and still novel and more nascent

In a way I see it like collecting a cassette tape of your favorite album. I have done this. But do I do it for everything? Nope.

i love the nature and explorative variability of long-form generative art pieces, that are specific to the medium with photos, these are not present which makes them pointless to me as aesthetic artifacts only however if the nft has some social functionality or based on a conceptual framework, they might make sense

The issue of value (beyond NFT enthusiasts) is going to be limited until use cases become easier. I can duplicate any image I want with ease. It is a PITA for the avg person to buy a NFT let alone tell them to mint one.

hm, I think its the same in terms of value, though I really appreciate artforms that 'use the medium on its terms' and I haven't quite seen that done well with photography NFTs...yet!
