become a mission focused DAO, the PR firm of crypto. public benefit over private benefit focus our efforts on attracting public impact projects like the playground, the school, skatepark & basketball court restorations, scholarships for high school & college blockchain developers translate the speculative fervor of crypto into real world impact

The problem with this direction is I don’t know why this makes sense as the PR firm of crypto. All of this could and have been accomplished with a regular charitable org. Question is — why nouns? What’s uniquely capable through nouns? I agree with the spirit of public over private benefit, but think there needs to be a unique twist that’s different from a regular old charity giving scholarships or slapping their name on a park.

I think this is still public good. If done correctly, giving to overlooked subcultures encourages diversity of interests, plays into the crypto side of doing things differently, independently, against the grain. To be cheesy it’s “creating more smiles” in these subgroups that otherwise don’t really have a chance of anyone taking them seriously. (someone from nouns said something like this and I like it as a mission, not sure who to credit though)

i deeply agree with this thesis. personally am very bearish on the ability to raise meaningful capital independent of crypto boom-bust cycles without charitable designation both encouraging capital inflows and serving as a hard check against the private benefit of insiders
